Default big riders,

calling all big riders, 250# and up and over 6'4"
what seats do you use for distance and why? did 400 miles today with the OL, im 6'5" 300# and after the first 200 miles the badlander seat i have on my SG was no longer doing it for either of us, around town its a great seat looks good and everything but i need a better long haul seat that hopefully isnt terribly unattractive as many of the big ones seem to be.

thanks

I just bought a sundowner for mine today. 220 miles today and no problems. I really want to do a longer ride before I decide though. But so far so good.

I am not over 6'4" but I love my corbin , it is real firm , and everyone, that gets on my bike to sit on says that it is hard, but for those 800 mile days, it is a life saver for me, the only problem I have is my tail bone gets sore.
I heard that Rush Racing products, have just came out with a seat that has the tail bone area cut out of the seat, so I hope to try one of those out, I know a guy doing a review of one when they get seats for the older bikes.

I'm 6 ft.3 in. and weight 280 and had the same issue till I went with the Corbin touring seat.
It was a little expensive "BUTT" was worth it.
I don't care what seat your sitting on, if Ya are gona roll 300 to 600 miles in a day, your *** is gona be sore.
Find someone thats got a seat that you may like and borrow it for a day before you go out and buy one because someone else said they liked it. A good biker buddy will not loan you their bike, BUTT they will help a brother out and to try something that is as important as seat comfort.
Happy Trails/Ride Safe !

I've tried every seat out there. For my butt, nothing beats a Russell Day Long for extreme touring.

I had a Corbin, and it was fine for two or three 10 hour days in a row. For more than that, look at Russell. They are expensive, but to me it is one of the best upgrades I've made to my bike. I won't own another bike without one.

They are also big, which may be a deal breaker for you. But look at it this way: your office chair is big, and you can sit on it all day because your weight is spread over a large portion of your *** and thighs. The smaller the seat, the more your weight is concentrated in a small area.

I'm still using the OEM on my 2000 Ultra.

For me, the rider backrest is an absolute MUST and the H-D "circulator seat and backrest pads" are worth their weight in gold.

6' 2" almost 300. Corbin all the way. Firm support keeps my tailbone from bouncing off the seat pan.
