on a new harley the engine fins look almost like they are diamond cut, never could figure out how to keep em looking that way, once they dull I have tried never dull, a dremel polishing pad with polishing rouge which worked best but a messy job, any secrets to keep em looking new? these new bikes run sooo good I think about the weird stuff.

Yeah, I'd like to know how to fix that as well. The fins on the left side of mine are a bit splotchy. It's not the end of the world, but I like my bikes to be purty I tried an emory cloth and it made no difference at all.

dealt with that in the past without much success, never dull, emery, red 3m pad, s100 cleaner, s100 engine brightner,s100 polishing soap etce tc......mine for now LOOK LIKE NEW WONDERING HOW TO KEEP THE LOOK, thinking maybe oil? sucks being super ****.
Hit em with a small stiff bristle stainless brush, go with the grain (original tooling marks). Once clean you can seal them with paste wax, to prevent further oxidation.
I had good luck using mothers aluminum polish and a rag. Almost impossible to get every fin and it will also leave a white residue on it that is next to impossible to remove. Don't get sloppy with the polish and the end result should be good.
