I have a shitload of thin cotton gloves that I bought from some industrial supply place. Kinda like t-shirt material. I put the gloves on my hand, spread some metal polish on them, and then rub the fins. I use the polish very sparingly to prevent any excess on the black. Works for me.

I give em a quick rub with Neverdull and wipe it with a rag. No worry about residue and they look great!

hope ya report back with your findings, I think some stay better looking then others, must be if you ride in the rain the water on the hot motor or something turns em shitty looking? like I said I just wanna keep mine looking like new so for now i tried spraying em with the s100 corrosion stuff. MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE WAX OFF the black parts. good luck

Not true for me. Been riding in the rain sinse day one. My silver engine turns brown from road dirt but allways cleans up nice.

+1 S100 Corrosion Protectant.

I wash and spray the fins about every 3 months with the S100 Corrosion Protectant. Let it sit for about 15 min and rub with a microfiber cloth. The protection will still be there after rubbing. I don't know for sure if this is the best prevention but it sure seems to work.

My bike is two years old and the fins shine like polished aluminum.
