What are you using to illuminate your plate?

 

Check out the "Curved License Plate Frame " ($85 -# 67900008) from the MOCO.
I realize your tail lights / Brake light assembly is different, but it is a really clean look on the rear fender. Might give you some ideas.

 

I put on a J&P taillight lense that has the clear plate window in the bottom built in. It works great and it was like $30. It is just a plug and play deal and it appears to be very good quality lense to boot.
