Default Header wrap used for baffle wrap?

Curious to see if anyone here has tried to use header wrap as baffle wrap in place of the fiberglass matt stuff? It would seem to last along time but wondering if too restrictive? I might have enough of this around to do my pro pipe baffle or just order some fiberglass stuff. Experience/opinions?

No experience using wrap as you suggest, but I think it would be too tight. Not letting the sound pulses get absorbed by the mat.

If you've got enough laying around, give it a shot and report back. I've never heard of anyone trying it. I need to rewrap my baffles and am curious.

I think by doing that, you'd essentially be turning your pipe into a "straight/drag pipe". It's too tight and restrictive so it will be louder and possibly lose a bit of low end grunt.

Yeah, I've been doing some digging on ther forums. Consensus is that it actually helps down low but weakens mid/upper range. Guess their's a reason why MFR's don't use it? I think I'll just spend $10 on a sheet of 1/4" fiberglass packing and give the baffle a couple loose/medium winds and call it good...

Good idea.....I tried using steel wool once and the thing smoked until it burned completely away....stick with whats tried and true.
