Did i do ok? (purchase)

Kinda makes you (me) wonder, though, why the previous owner bought a bike to begin with. 3500 miles in 6 years is around 584 miles a year. Good deal for you, probably a bad investment for the previous owner(s). I see that all the time in the shops around here. Bikes that are three, maybe 4 years old with 5K or less on the clock. Just makes me shake my head.

I bought an '04 EG Ultra in 2009, 3590 original miles. The first owner had done stage I & stage II mods when it was brand new. It had issues for the first two years, and I spent a lot of time and $$ sorting it out. Turns out the dealer installed one of the cams "out of time". Once that was rectified the bike was golden, but even then the tuning was finicky, and I always had the sense that I would always have issues with the high strung nature of the modified 88 c.i., and the cam robbed it of low end torque and overall flexibility around town in favor of high end power. It didn't really come alive until 65-70 mph or so. My indy said it was because the stage II were "highway cams". The bike was someone else's version of what they wanted, not mine. It would have cost too much to take it back down and make it the way I wanted it.
Point is don't be too quick to modify the engine. I plan on leaving my new '12 Road Glide Ultra stock, with the only upgrade being a set of slip ons. Take your time and research any changes you make to the bike. Use high quality parts and accessories-they cost more up front but will last and quality always shows. Your bike will look classy and drive a lot better.
Use good synthetic lubricants, especially Redline trans lube with shockproof. Your transmission will shift more smoothly and quietly. A lot of HDF members swear by it, as do I.
Welcome to the forum. Beautiful bike. Ride safe!
