Armed bike riding
Question......
I have my CCW permit (concealed carry weapons). I tend to carry on my right hip under my leather jacket. I'm curious to know if anyone else carries while riding and where do they keep it for best 'access' while on the bike. I hate that my gloves are on to begin with, then its under the jacket where its hard to get to anyway... but I don't leave home without my weapon either riding or not and just thought I would ask the group to see where other riders keep theirs...
Thanks!!

RE: Armed bike riding
Always thought carying IWB or anywhere on the belt was a bit uncomfortable and more easily printed when on my ultra so I've decided to go with an Alessi shoulder rig for my p239.

I tend to use a fanny pack made to fit mah .45 an' a spare mag. It's designed to "rip" open in case of need, with the added bonus of additional storage for other stuff. There's also a small bag I used to carry on the gas door of the Wing that'd tuck mah .380 Colt real nice - tryin' ta figger out a way ta fit it to the door on mah Ultra now.

When I carry it is usually on my strong side on the belt. Sometimes in a fanny pack (never understood that when it is carried up front; crotch pack or ball pack just doesn't have the same ring does it?)The thought is to have it as an absolute last resort. If you are moving and the sh** starts flyin' being on two wheels is already a huge disadvantage with no cover or concealment. Roll on the throtle and get the hell out to good cover if at all possible. At least on the belt (or in the pack) is where I always have it so the reaction for it is natural and instinctive.

It's a good thing I don't carry, I would run out of bullets shooting some of these dumb ****'s. My wife tries to calm me down every time we're out. I always thought George Carlin said it best, give everyone a dart gun and when someone does something stupid, shoot the vehicle, that way when they get home they can see how dumb the are. Just hope I wouldn't get any. As for the question as to where to keep it? How about getting a pocket on the inside of your jacket and just zip it up to that point and have some velcro hold it the rest of the way up. Good luck.

I carry several different ways. During cooler weather I have a jacket with a gun pocket that works great, pocket is on the out side so just upzip and there it is. When the weather is warm I will use a fanny pack that has the gun rig on the inside, easy to access. I use this when I'm on longer rides, also gives me a place for other stuff. On shorter rides I will either put it in one of the bags or carry it in a inside the pants rig in the center of my back. Always have to wear my shirt out when doing this...just have to watch it when setting down and getting up. You just have to try the different ways and see what works for you. You will not carry if it is not comfortable. But if your like me, I feel naked without it.
