Is it possible without destroying it?

Spray some carb cleaner or brake cleaner under it and twist it around and pull it off.

I use a layer of golf cub handle tape, then use hair spray, it help to lube it going in, and when dried, solid hold.
The OEM glue came loose/off every time it rain hard. Since this trick, the grip never moves. I probably have to destroy it if I want to take it out, though.
