I was mistakenly under the impression that it was fine and dandy where it was so why monkey with it as part of a service interval. I've seen the light. Thanks again.
Sounds like your problem was the classic case of lack of freeplay in the clutch. That is why in every clutch adjustment discussion I always preach the importance of freeplay, both inside the cover and at the lever. Contrary to what many believe, freeplay will decrease as the clutch discs wear and when the freeplay is gone slippage occurs. Therefore periodic adjustments are necessary to compensate for the wearing of the clutch discs. Glad you got your problem solved.

If I take it easy, it stays hooked up but if I get on it a little bit, it's almost like the clutch is engaging as the RPMs kinda take off on their own.

I realize it's still under warranty but need to see if I can chase this fix down as much as possible myself since I'm not off the thing long enough for it to be down too terribly long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have been having problems with my 2012 limited as well. i see that adjusting your clutch worked for you, not so much for me. i have been having problems with my clutch slipping or the slack in the cable becoming very loose, i adjust the primary under the derby cover and it seemed to be ok for a few hundred miles, adjusted the slack in the cable for a few hundred and start all over again. it had gotten so bad that i had adjusted the cable so far out it was at the end of its threads after about 500 miles. the bike now has roughly 12,500 on it and before anyone asks, im not a hot roder or any thing like that. i just ride with my chapter and take long trips with my wife. but anyways i knew something wasnt right when the primary drain plug was full of metal flakes on the magent. so i took it in to the dealer and the middle chutch plates are fried. not covered under warranty as many already know. so i went ahead and got the screamin eagle clutch plates and screamin eagle spring to hopefully handle the 103 alot better. i should have the bike back this evening after a week.
