I really dislike how backrests look no matter how small they are. I think the whole detachable concept is about the most brilliant idea HD has ever come up with. I can put that stupid backrest on when I've got a passenger and take the thing off within seconds of getting home

I have the short detachable backrest on my ’12 SG. You can take it off in seconds, and even with it on, I don’t think it looks bad. FWIW, it works for short hauls, but not so much for long hauls. If we hit any bumps, etc, the backrest hits her right in the lower back. I may have to look at the tall detachable option or even a detachable tour pack for the real long hauls.

Kuryakan has a couple, this one has a built in, fold down luggage rack

then they have the smaller narrow type like the Sporty & Dyna's have...

I think I am gonna go with the detachable low rise back rest.

Finally I can see how a Sundowner seat fits with a short backrest! Which backrest pad is that? It doesnt look like the "short" pad? Thanks

In the 70's, we knew how to make back rests...... admit it, you want a king/queen seat too..!

I agree completely. We all want the sleek look of a short back rest but I sat back there just to see how it feels and its so short that ur back bends backwards over the back rest. Short trips no brainer but long hauls I'm sure she will be complaining.
