Heritage bars on a Road King Last night
I installed the Heritage bars on my RK last night..
First thoughts; I am not real sure that I like the angle the bars put on my wrist and I know I have some final adjusting to do with the bars, and the brake and clutch handle.. Planning on a pretty good trip saturday, then I will know.
The install was very easy, like a 1 out of 5 (5 being the hardest) I found a step by step (with pictures) here on this forum on how to do it.
Is there another bar that can be used with out changing the cables? Like a 10" Ape?

The Heritage for RK bars need to be layed back to make the wrist angle tolerable, rock the bars back until the grips level out.
I went with the 56569-09 Heritage bars, these can be run at a similar angle to the forks without that weird grip angle issue. Do a search for 56569-09 and you'll find some comparisons. The 56569-09 bars are max height for stock brake/clutch cable lengths (roughly 11.5" tall baby apes)
The Heritage for RK bars positioned were they'll be comfortable reduce reach quite a bit more than the actual '09+ Heritage bars (56569-09) I have, riders shorter than average will likely favor the Heritage for RK bars, while average to taller than average riders will probably favor the '09+ Heritage bars.

Yes, they are the Heritage style bars and I have them pretty close to the angle of the forks and yes the angle is bad. I was thinking that lowering them might help. I will move them tonight! (thanks)
Thanks for the information on the 569 bars too, i am going to look into that if I cant make these others work.

Ive got the 'style' bars on mine now and Ive never found the wrist angle to be an issue. I had to pull em towards me as far as they would go for the reach ( Im 5-8"). I really dont like bars that deviate from the angle of the forks, it doesnt flow to me. Im going to a 12" KW ape and hoping for more pullback and flow angle.
