Heritage bars on a Road King Last night
#21
So stupid question from a newb...how much taller are the heritage bars then the stock bars. I have a 2012 RKC and want my hands higher when I ride. I'd like this to be a DYI but have not done any work on a bike. I've done plenty on cars and such, tools are a bit limited so I'm curious about the notching and such. I want more of the "ape" look without having to extend cables and such.
This thread, illustrated with photos, makes it a VERY easy job, even for a newbie. Very limited, but specific tools are needed--essentially a set of Torx sockets for an inch-pound torque wrench and a few screwdrivers.

I've got a new set of the 'fat' 1-1/4" heritage bars I bought for a road king, but sold the bike before I got a chance to install them. As soon as I can find a box to ship them in, I'm going to list them over in the classifieds if anyone is interested. They're already notched for TBW.
