Heritage Style Bars on my RKC "Pics Inside"

When I bought my '11 RKC I had to switch to the Heritage "style" bars because the stock bars were killing my back (pre-existing back problems, back surgery, etc)
Now I find that the Heritage style bars are giving my hands & wrists problems due to the narrower bars and funky grip angle.
Thursday, I'm getting the Wild 1 WO509 16" apes put on. We'll see how that works!

What I don't like about Hegitage bars is in order for the grips go be at the right angle you have to tip the bars back and then they don't line up with the angle of the front forks. Looks kinda weird to me. The Road King High Bars looked and felt better to me, I tried them both before I settled on one. What ever works for you is the right choice I say.

Tip, if you are adjusting our bars, still place a towell over your tank. My socket wrench was between my legs and flipped up and dinged my dash. That cover is super soft!!

I had the Heritage Bars installed on my 11RKC before I took delivery. After several rides I got my HD Adjustable Backrest dialed in to where I like it, and my pegs where I wanted them. I noticed on long rides my hands would be back off the grips a little, with mostly fingers on the grips. That told me to lay the bars back just a little and give it a try.
That nailed it.
I leveled up the controls and such, and have been happy ever since.
Mine are not tilted back quite as much as in those pics, but to each their own. It really is a lot about fit. When I go for a ride, my bike fits me like a tailored shirt, or an old reliable pair of gloves.
Do whattcha gotta do!
