Default I know....another Windshield thread.

Been reading on this forum and others about Windshields.Scaned the internet on articles and read up on diff. manufacturers sites. Everybody claims to have the best... The more i read, the more I'm uncertain on which one to pick.
One thing i do know and that is, the original will go! (12 inch high)
Got a new FLHTK or Ultra Limited. I'm 6' tall. The 12 ' shield is to high for me. I'm looking over it, but the top is just below eye level (between lip and nose) and before to long i slouch instead of sitting up straight and it's even worse.
I nailed it down to fastaire/longrideshields/clearviewshields and freedomshields. They all look simelar to each other. Havent nailed down the height of the one I'll get yet.
They question to you, especially the ones that had/have tried out several makes, What is the best working shield. And height for a 6 foot tall guy.
Appreciate all help .

Guess i should add, that I'm only considering a shield with the recurve, so i can keep it as low as possible.

A lot depends on what look you like, and whether you prefer to look "through" the shield, or over it. There's alot of good info on the web. You definitely want one that's set up for the "posture" you normally ride in, since that will be the most comfortable. Height of the shield is not so important as "design" of the shield, since that will affect the stream of air going over your head or into it, depending on the shield. Hope that helps a little. If you like any of our shields, you can give James a call at 775-331-3789 and he can custom fit a shield to your desires

I'm 6' with a 32" inseam and sit so I can look over a 12" shield. But at times the edge is right at eye level with ground fluctuations.

I now use a 10" with recurve and it's great.
It's actually a Fast Aire Areo and I love it. http://www.fastaire.com/Aero.html

save a bunch of cash and use a rotozip to cut the bottom ( hidden) edge.

it is easy and takes little time, some use a jigsaw.

the cut is concealed so no points for sloppy cuts taken off.

Start an an inch, then do another if you want.

I'm 6'2" and have the top edge "appear" about 40' in front of the bike.

since I swap seats alot ( which all have me at different height) I have different windscreens and match to the seated height

I run a 10" recurve from Freedom Shields and I look over it and have as good of protection as stock.I'm 6'1,I think LRS would also be a good choice.Seemed like I was always looking through the top edge of the stock shield and I didn't like that.

I definitely know how you feel on that, i hate that feeling of looking "through" the top edge. Feels like you're going to miss something that way, plus it distorts things, no matter how good the plastic
