Default Belt Troubles

About to replace my belt. This belt has only ben on the bike for approx 3k miles if that.

What I wanna know is...

How does this happen?

Looks like something got caught in there. How does the pulley look?

Did you replace your sprocket? HD says you should replace it with a new belt.

After the pulley was mentioned, I went back to check and I see where something may have gotten in there.

In the direction of traction (opposite of your movie) your the belt lost 3 teeth, then 6, then 12 or 13. I think the (32T) transmission sprocket is more likely to shear the teeth if the belt got loose or if you had a cramp in the left hand

Too loose or, pulleys out of alignment. (or both)

my belt issues -- stripped teeth -- belt replaced -- less than 1k later belt snapped -- new belt pulled out of the garage hit it hard belt snapped -- new belt new rear pulley (under warranty) no issues since then --- check the pulley
