I do a lot of long distance traveling on my bike and I have this nagging fear that I'm going to have a front tire issue at some point and would need to get the tire replaced away from home. Being that HD dealers don't carry the tire for my front 21" wheel, I'd probably be stranded for at least a couple of days waiting on a new tire. I'm wondering if anybody has an idea of what I could get for my complete wheel set if I tried to sell them. They are chrome Colorado Custom "Monte Carlo" wheels (21" front and 18" rear). They would include the matching front chrome rotors, matching rear belt pulley, and a front Avon Cobra tire. No rear wheel tire would be included. The wheel set, and front tire, has about 5-6k miles on them. They are a little over a year old. Any idea what I could get for this set?

You do know that your front tire is the same size that is stock on a Yamaha Raider, right? Check some Yamaha shops and see if they keep them in stock. Me, I just carry a plug kit and an air compressor on trips and if the tire is close on wear I'll replace it before I go far from home.

 

No, I didn't know that. Thats good info. Do you happen to know what the brand and style of tires is that comes on a stock Raider? A lot of shops (at least HD shops anyways) won't patch a tire, they will only replace it. It's a liability thing I guess.

The 21 on a raider is a me880 Metzler, had a raider when i worked at a yami dealer, sorry to say most wont stock that tire either due to the price and not common like you already see with hd dealers!
