I use AMS 75W-140 Severe Gear and really like it. My Amsoil rep. called Baker and talked to them about it. They recommended it in everything but the Northern Colder Climates.

At a minimum, SVG 75/90 or 110.

I had been using Amsoil 20w50wt in all 3 holes. Switched to Redline Shockproof in the transmission. Its much heavier (thicker) than the 20w50 & I have noticed an improvement. I think Dawg or Twillis would be right if ya wanted to stick with Amsoil in there.

Chicago Spike recommended the same thing. He is an Amsoil dealer, so I would hope he would know.

Gear oil, as I understand, is measured by a different scale than motor oil. Oddly, 75/90 gear oil is roughly equivalent to 20/50 motor oil.

SAE Engine Oil vs SAE Gear Oil

10w thru mid range of 20w = 75w

Mid 20w thru mid 30w = 80w

Mid 30w thru low 40w = 85w

Low 40w thru 50w = 90w

60w up = 140w
