Yes and no.
To and from work in rush hour traffic, yes. In the Winter, yes (helps keep me warmer). Otherwise, no.
Wife usually won't wear one if I don't, so I'm thinking of wearing one all the time to get her to.
I have a 3/4 and a 1/2, and she has a 1/2 and sometimes wears my 3/4. The face shield helps her deal with her allergies and all the stinkin' pollen.

I wear a half helmet 100% of the time. I have purchased several full face but I can't get used to them. Michigan just repealed the helmet law, but there are a few restrictions. You must be 21, passed a safety course in the past 2 years, and have a minimum of $20k in medical on your motorcycle policy (even if you already have medical insurance).

One of my accidents (I've had 2 bad ones in just over 25 years of riding) I was wearing a half helmet. It did its job, but I got lucky. I was going to work on and went down in the dark. If it wasn't cold I probably would not have put the windshield on my Road King. The helmet was gouged all the way around and the windshield was almost ground through. I had no scrapes on face because windshield saved me. Now I wear a 3/4, but miss the half as it just feels better. This is why I understand when some don't want to wear helmets. I hope and pray they never have to find out whether or not they should have worn one.

The wife and I always wear our helmets along with long pants, boots, and long sleeved shirts or mesh jackets. Added note, in 2008, I while riding alone and T-Boned a deer and slid down the road 150 feet, thank God I had a helmet on, usually 1/2 helmet and because the weather was cool I also was wearing a leather jacket and gloves.

Hard to understand, Michigan says we no longer need to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle. You still need a helmet while riding a ATV. The other thing is that I have worn a helmet while snowmobiling sense 1969 and I would say 999% of all snowmobilers have always used a helmet not only for protection but also warmth, and other reasons, This was With out any laws requiring the wearing of a helmet while riding a snowmobile. Then a few years ago a law was passed requiring the use of a helmet while snowmobiling. Why? I do not know. Now motorcyclists do not need a helmet even though others do. Go figure.
