Default Stage 1 with stock cover (help)

I installed the Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1 primarily because I want to use the stock cover. Install went great but the black gasket around the football cover falls off with nothing to mount to. Did I do something wrong?

yes you tried to reuse the black gasket.. there's nothing for it to seal to?

its meant to seal the factory backing cover to the football cover throw it away you don't need it

But it just doesn't look right without it. Oh well, I'll remove it. Thanks

OEM backing is gone. You don't need it.

keep in mind...that cover is really good as sucking in hot air which has been heated by the cylinder heads...on hot days...you might want to throw the cover in your saddle bag.
