Stage 1 download?

Get the download and save money unless you are doing more extensive mods than ac and exhaust, even if you have O2 sensors (and I know you don't on an '06). I had SE muffs, SEAC and the Stage 1 download and the bike ran great. I recently swapped out the stock headers and SE mufflers and put on a 2-1 Thunderheader and no other changes and it still runs great. You will notice quite a difference in performance with a Stage 1.

My last. Ike was an 06 with the down load and it ran great, I was asked a lot if it had cams because it ran so quick for a stage one. My dealer here in Louisiana will not install the down load on newer bikes? Just sells the SE tuner with dyno, adds another $590 to your stage 1 instead of $150 down load that works fine. For another $450 and up I think the down load works just fine unless you plan on cams or other engine mods.

it is like a caned map for what you have changed on your bike , good feed back for a basic tune

This is a timely discussion... I just ordered a used set of SE Performance Slip-Ons and A Big Sucker for my '08 Ultra. I ordred a set of Xieds from NightRider also... My bike runs hot as ****... my right side stock muffler is a wee yellowed even down by the tip, (I have to be running super lean). Sounds like I should be in pretty good shape with the above to help cool it down and get some performance gains... but would a trip to the dealer for a Stage 1 download in addition to the above mods be pertinent in my super lean running bike?

I had the Stage 1 download done on my 2010 when my local H-D shop installed the Screamin' Eagle Stage 1 Air Cleaner Kit and Screamin' Eagle Street Performance Touring Mufflers. They had me do the 103" ECM calibration and not the 96" calibration, saying that the 96" calibration was too lean and I'd be happier with the 103" download.
Don't know the differences between the downloads and if the 96" really is leaner, but I've had no drivability issues either.
