Riding with new cams prior to tune.
I have the wood tw7h cams in 08 ultra 103. Changing to Andrews 54s was told by a buddy that I can install the 54s and ride ride for a while, untill I'm able to get it in for a tune. May be couple of weeks. What's your thinking on this. Also my tuner is 100 miles from me so that will be the long ride.
Thanks

I had some SE cams installed in my old 2002 Heritage and didn't dynotune it right away. I rode it to California from Alabama. I was sorry I did it because my gas mileage ranged between 25 and 30 and it kinda pissed off my buddies cause I had to stop for gas so often. Cost me a lot more too. When I got home I had it dyno'd and raised it to an easy 40+ mpg. I can't recall the specific cam but it was a low end one in an 88 with hooker headers and SE intake. Dyno tuning just makes the bike run as good as it will so I'll never wait again after changing something like that but it didn't hurt anything.

The woods great cam loud and seems to kick in around 3000 rpms. And drops off to soon, find myself shifting and lost to an adrews a buddy's bike to many times. Changing pipes do figure try different cam. But found out I have a 15% leakdown thru rings in both cylinders. So it comes back apart and a 107 goes in.

Some can, some can't. The profile on my 203's ( stock on my S/E Road Glide,) were similar enough to the profile of the Andrews 26G'g now in there that I just ride the bike as is.
Bike had a Stage II download from the factory and hasn't needed a tuner for the last 26,000 miles, ( installed 26G's at 81,000 miles. Currently at 107,000 miles.) Gas mileage still at 46 mpg.
