Default J&M 6 speaker Rocker w/led's Set up 3,000? is it worth it?

I have been thinking about replacing my HOG TUNES system on my limited. I live Torreon Mexico, but My limited is back in Boston. I was not very happy with the HOGTUNES after my last summer tour on the bike and this summer, I have a lot of riding to do, I am looking to replace.

I was looking into the J&M rocker site at the six speaker set up, speaker LED lights and a 500 watt amp they want 3,081! I feel like this is way too much money. I know doing the bad lids gets expensive with repainting the lids and what not, but 3,000 grand.

1. who has this system and is it worth it?

2. Can anyone in the Boston area turn me on to an Bagger auido guy who migth me able to give me a good system for 2,000. I did not really want to spend more then 2000, but if I have to go 3000 I will.

3. IS HAWG WIRED a good option?

I really dont have time to do it myself and I am in no way a good enough mechanic to do it myself. An oil change is about all you will get from me.

I think its high but I would do it myself. I understand that you don't want to do it. You should be able to get good 6 speakers and 2 amps for about 1100-1500.

Wow !!!!!!!!! Did you check on the price with a forum sponsor,..................then just pay an audio shop to install it ?? Would that be cheaper ??

That seems high. I checked their site,....and didn't see a kit that packages everything that you want in one nice bundle. WEIRD.

I would check around. I'm sure that if that's the system that you want, you'll be able to get it for a better price.

Since you have the ULTRA,..............what about just putting the 5.25's in the rear pods, and skip the lids. You'd be trading the 7.25 for the 5.25. Cost would look more like this,...( from the J & M website ).

ROKKER 7.25 Fairing speakers $350

ROKKER 5.25 Rear pod speakers $200

ROKKER lower speaker kit $450

ROKKER 500 watt amp $770

2 sets of LED rings $500

This setup would be $ 2270 list. I'm sure that someone would give you a discount on an order this big.

I can leave the rear pods as is, they ar hogtunes, and just add the fairing and lowers with the LED's with the amp.

Maybe I will do just that, and forget baout the lids.

U could fly me to Boston from Pittsburgh, pay for the gas for me to ride ur bike back to Ohio where I live... Then I could could have a radio shop put in a quality sound system that probabley sounds much better than J&M and finally, I could have a 18 wheeler tow ur bike back to Boston and it wouldn't cost 3000.00....Freaking JM is rediculous...just waiting for JMJohn to come on here and say "pretty hard to beat those JM rockkers." then he'll tell u he'll send u coupon for $10 off because they are rediculously priced and not even made by them.....sorry for the rant....

J&M Products are nice, but way overpriced. I would find a nice mid-level speaker and amp, then run with that. I did all my own work. Less than 1k on equipment, and the labor was free. 8 speakers and 1600 watts later...Priceless!!!

u could also do a hell of set up with a 4 channel rockford fosgate and a great set of speakers from polk, boston, or titan....all of this would cost u between 600-750...hawg wired is also a great option...my buddy has the hawg wired system and it sounds awesome..pretty price stuff but it is clear as a bell...
