EBAY, Thanks. Didn't think to look there.

sorry, I guess someone already mentioned that. I'm thinking this one will do the trick.

I cannot see how the HD tool can accurately transfer torque from a torque wrench to the 36mm nut. There is force being applied in too many vectors, not to mention the losses in torque through this design. I can see where someone might look at it and think it would work, but I don't buy it.

For me, the only correct way to properly torque the axle nut would be to remove the right muffler and stick on a 36mm socket attached to a 1/2" torque wrench. Otherwise, you are guessing on the applied torque. The proper torque of the rear tire axle is nothing to fool around with in my opinion.

The 36mm sockets are cheap at the autoparts stores and other outlets because there is a low demand for them, so why spend more money if you don't have too. I bought two of them for about $7 each.

Tell the two STEALERS that won't sell you tools to eat s--t and die! MOST of the so called special tools for any vehicle, 4 wheels or two, are manufactured by Kent-Moore. If you don't want to trust an aftermarket scoot supplier, find a Snapon, Mac or Cornwell tool truck (they cater to professional mechanics usually) and buy the OEM tool from the source! I've done so on MANY ocasions and have NEVER failed finding what I wanted at one of those tool dealers.

I use the skinny one that came in the HD tool kit on the bike and a 36mm socket from Sears on my torque wrench. Never bothered with that tool.

Think you are talking about what snap on calls a torque wrench increaser. Seen a few generics if you look. Pretty penny from snapon. I turned my axle around so as I can pull it without taking off exhaust on a Softail and I have one. Also have one for the shock mounts. You need to check but as long as you keep it at 90 it does not increas torque leaver amount but remember if you hang it straight out it multiplys the value. Over the years as long as I know were mine goes since mine has the snap in retainer wire that looks like a safety pen, I just mark it with a sharpie and mostlly just use a box wrench.

Here is a page that explains it all and also has calculators to figure the change in the settings.
