GPS mount for 2012 RKC w/1.25" bars
#11
I'm considering buying a Garmin Nuvi 550 and a RAM mount.
I used their tool to determine what I need, and it comes up with a u-bolt mount and a cradle - probably fine but I'm concerned about scratching my bars.
Anyone else use this mount, or can recommend a different mount?

Before buying RAM, check this one: http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/CTGY/nuvi.html
It's not for everyone but a lot of people like the nice chrome and solid materials (also made in the USA)...

I had a U bolt mount on my bike, and it did leave a very slight blemish on it when I took it off. It's hard to see, but it's there.
With years of therapy and the right nurse, I have managed to get past this tragic event and move on with my life.
But seriously, Techmount makes some very nice handlebar mounts for GPS devices, and most of them have a plastic insert that will protect your bars.
