Well, I'm not gonna read all 400+ posts but I had to put in my two cents. My best friend in the whole world rides an 07 Nomad. Looks just like the 05 in the original post. 1600 cc and all that. He LOVES it, and so does his wife. I have two other friends that own Nomads, and they LOVE them.
Kawasaki makes a lot of different kinds of motorcycles, and the Nomad does exactly what it was designed to do; hustle down the highway comfortably. Minor complaints I hear from my friend are poorer gas mileage than his previous Kawasaki 900 cc, speedometer error, and poor tire mileage. Beyond that it does a great job for HIM. As for me, I love my Ultra for all its features and comforts, and I can live with its deficiencies like engine heat, yada yada. He maintains his bike by himself so his expenses are low. I have mine done at the dealership so mine aren't. I paid $21400 for mine, he paid just over $13000 for his. He goes as fast as I do for about the same gas mileage. We ride to California now and then, and he is just as comfy as I am after 350 miles.
Knees in the breeze is what binds us all together. Not everyone can afford or even want a Harley, I'm just glad I have one.

Just ran across this ad on craigslist. Guy's trying to sell his Kawasaki cruiser and he say's what? "looks similar to a..........." a what? What's that you say? it looks like a what??
That sums it up for me.
03 Kawasaki 1500 Vulcan Nomad FI - $5800 (Rosenberg, Texas)
If you are looking for a really nice and comfortable bike then look no further-- this is it!
Looks similar to a Harley.
This bike is well balanced and fun and easy to ride with an awesome sound!
The bike gets around 42mpg on the open road cruising 65-70 and about 38mpg in town.

Most motorcycles are just plain cool. (except crotch rockets, just me I guess) riding is fun, a way to let it all go. If you like it, great! If you don't, sell it and get what you want. I'll still wave to ya......have fun in the kawi forum.......

I have had every thing since i was about 15 years old, 750 2 stroke kaw 750, 900 kz kaw , 1100 suzy, and several others, then about 5 years ago i was bike less and had not rode for a while, and my wife talked about gettin another bike and i said it has to be a harley, cause i had never owned a harley. So i started with a 97 dyna glide, 2001 road king, and now a 07 e-glide, i probably would not own another bike but harley, the others never had any soul... But they were good bikes. I always enjoyed them.............
