Default Cams Again

Hello everyone. Have been on this site for awhile but first time looking for some advice. Have a 09 EGC. stage 1 now. Ride mostly 2 up. Been doing a lot of reading on the cam threads but is anyone running the SE 253 cams. If so how do you like them and campare to the 255 or any others.

thanks for the imput

253 cams are an odd grind. Not too much to compare them to, nor is there any particular application where they would be a first choice. They have an unconventional profile, not a particulary good high hp cam, nor are they a torque cam. They were used in the CVO 103 motors, which was a fairly low compression motor with big chamber heads. Look elsewhere for a cam. They're nothing like the 255, which would be a good choice for your bike.

If you are looking for a little more top end than the 255 has the 254e has very similar torque with a little more hp on the top end. Afriend has them in his 12' RG and he's got a pretty flat torque curve just above 100 and 95 peak hp.
