Default More Questions on cams

Now that we've finished the upgrade of my 06 FLHT 88 and bro has heard it and actually rode it he's thinkin' cams pretty serious. Actually he's foaming at the mouth to get some. He's ridin a 2011 FLHTCUI with the 96. We ride about the same as far as terrain, speed, loading (2up) between 2800/3000 rpm.

I know this is gonna be a loaded question but what's the thoughts on an SE cam set up for his rig? It's been de-catted and he's running the Dolbeck tuner also. He's thinkin' 255 or 204's same as mine.

I'd recommend the Andrews 48H or TMan 555 Torqsters.

255's would align with you rpm style, are easy and wont complicate your bike. 257's come in later and need more compression. above 257's , you will need valve spring work.

I have the 255s and like to ride in the 2700 to 3200 range and to get it up to 4K if needed quickly. I spend very little time above 3200. The 255s do their job.

255's for me and I am pleased. Amazing diff. with 2-1-2 V&H Power Duals/HO Mufflers, SE Ventilator AC, SE RaceTuner. I went from stock after a month to this all overnight and it was like night and day. Plenty fast for me, and could get out of control really fast, smokes the tire with too much throttle given too quickly. Thats fun in a strait line, but jump too hard on a corner in the first 3 gears, and it gets loose FAST. Something about this combo makes it perform better than the sum of it's parts would seem to make on paper. I have an all HD,(except for exhaust system) and the dealer said that it is under warranty just like it was before the work, strait from the mouth of the owner of HDHD.
my 103 makes 93hp and 109tq. Before the work it was too hot, and barely could use 6th except on flat roads or long declines...
Now I can run 6th gear anywhere, inclines of 30* doesn't slow it down and tq. is long and flat, over 100 from 2500 all the way to 4200, tons of TQ.
