Each engine is a little different than the others and (IMHO) needs to be tuned on an individual basis. A canned map can only get you so close. I like my autotune because I know that whatever change(s) I make down the road, the autotune will compensate for it. To me it's a peace of mind thing.
As 2black1s stated above, "Now that I've had one, I would never have a tuner without that capability again. Well worth the cost." I agree 100%.

I just added AutoTune to my PC-V about a month ago.
I had a great Fuel Moto map already in the PC-V but after adding the SE255 cams and a new Fuel Moto map I had a little flat spot when starting off that I could not seem to tune out. Keith thought that my Dresser Duals might be the problem.
I have no Dyno in my area that I would trust with my bike. I asked Keith about the AutoTune and he said it would sure help with the tune.
Added the AutoTune and it started making some changes to the map.
The bike now has no flat areas in the throttle. It is very, very responsive at any area of the throttle. Runs like a raped ape. Well, as much as a 96 w/SE255's can....LOL
I suggest if you have a PC-V to go ahead and get the AutoTune, its a great tuning tool.
If you ever change anything, it will tune the bike for the change. I changed to Rinehart 4" mufflers and the AutoTune made some small changes to the map for something as minor as a muffler change.
Its a great tuning tool...Get the AutoTune.
