RE: Took on The Dragon @ Deals Gap and Lost
I'm glad you guys were ok. Ilive in Atlanta and ride deals gap often. Everyone who comes for a visit wants to go there. I just relax and go slow. I've never had a problem. The curves are to sharp for a really enjoyable ride on a Harley in my opinion. Highway 52 from Ellijay to Chatsworth in North Georgia is a fun ride. Big sweeping curves, high elevations, and plenty of room on new pavement.

the time i was there with a moto guzzi lemans tenni it was raining and a truck had dumped either oil or diesel every 4 feet or so. so i kept it 25 to 30 mph and even then i managed to slip the rear end about 12 or 15 times .luckily i did not go down.
next time will be mid-week in june 07 and i am taking the street glide .

Wow Road Glider, ya'll were lucky. I went up there back at the end of october and rode. That place scares me not because of the curves...they aren't really bad at all, but the fools coming the other way and the trucks like the one that got your group. I don't know why in the world they don't keep trucks off that road with all the bike traffic. One "go fast" bike went down when I was there but he was not hurt bad. Glad nobody from your group was hurt worse than they were...those pics look bad. Ride safe and have fun!
