Why dont you give Frank a call at DragosBikeWorks{1-815-765-1790} he's right in MachesneyPark. He can tune if you need. He's probably one of the best tuner/builders in the midwest.

All I did was change exhaust and I found that in order to have a smooth running bike, I needed a tuner. I had a stubble or hiccup right around 2,000 RPM with only an exhaust change. No A/C or anything else. You don't NEED a tuner, but you will probably want one. VIEDS or XIEDS are the cheapest, most convenient wayt to go if money is the issue. They fool your bike into getting more gas so it runs better in Lemens terms. I personally don't use them but I have friends that swear by them.

I went with the Power Vision because you can use that to upgrade at anytime no matter what you do to your bike. Got it from FM and they will send you any map you need. Then just flash it into the ECM and don't have to worry about adding extra pieces onto your bike.

Just my $.02

I'm at 103, stage III, forged 10.5:1 psitons, 257 cams, re-wored heads, yada yada, no tuner, no dyno. After each upgrade, after about a mile of riding, ecm recalibrated and the bike runs fine. If you get some xied's , that will richen up your mixture.

Sorry, but I have to call Bullshit on this one. There's no way your ecm will compensate for that many changes. It's capabilities are limited to a very small range and this is definitely beyond that range.

I'd put a tuner on my bike before I changed pipes or air cleaner. Just richening it up and cooling the motor makes a tuner worth it. Factory afr is to lean.

From what the real expert's say. Stock 14.6 afr is not too lean. Stock Bikes running today with many miles in all temps are doing great. It's when you start changing air intake and exhaust is when it get's too lean. I agree partly with fritz above. The ECM will compensate to a degree. I know some that are running stage 1 with mild cams that are using the Dealer DL. If I were to go with a big bore kit, say 107 and above. I would buy a Tuner and might even consider an oil cooler. not sure what calling bullshit means...let me guess....A) I bought a tuner installed it...spent dyno money and am saying I did not OR, I took my bike to 103 stage 3 and did not use a tuner or dyno as I indicated and my bike runs like a pig but I'm saying it runs like a dream. SO for "A)" guess your going to have to call around all the shops and ask if my bike has been in their for tuning or dyno work (pm me and I will give you my vin) OR for "B)" pm me and we can hook up so you can check out my bike to see if it runs like a pig. AND do report back on your findings OTHERWISE you calling bullshit, does mean **** if you can't follow thru on your statements.
