I am trying to remove my Battery on my 07 UC. My dealer told me to remove the Maxi Fuse and then the battery. When I removed the Maxi fuse the siren started sound wouldn't stop and drove me crazy. Since I was doing this inside my 6x12 enclosed trailer I was about ready to say the heck with it. I finally got the battery out and then the maxi fuse. My question is why did the siren sound when I pulled the maxi fuse and how do you remove the battery without the siren sounding?

I think you can remove the siren, and still have all of the other functions of the alarm system (flashing lights, ignition cutout).

 

The siren probably sounded due to the voltage change from removing the fuse. Not sure of the procedure for removing the battery without sounding it. Probably disconnect the siren first then remove the battery.

 

Can't you just disable the alarm by having the key close by?

 

If its an 07, have the key fob close by to disarm the alarm. If you have an older bike, just disarm the alarm, and it will not sound. Its the voltage change that sets off the alarm, also if you chose to take off the alarm, again you have to disarm it or it will continue to sound even when its off the bike. Good Luck
