Are we still talking about floor boards??

Anyway, I SPIT on mine. That way the spit dries out and they stay put, rather than having residual lube on them.

Yep, whacked it while on the bike. Just not too hard. And made sure nobody was watching.

06r, any gap noted between the insert and chrome, on the outer edge of the footboards?

Mine kept coming out so i used a little silicone to hold them in.

I put my pans on today...and had the SAME issue. I went crazy with the dishwashing liquid; and as a result, the set-screw pushed the pans back out.

THE MALLET WORKED! lol...I'm a happy ****. lol.

I'm going to have to try the lube/mallet trick. I bought mine used on this forum, and have had them on the bike for over a year. Last night after I got home I noticed one was looking about halfway out of it's mount. I removed both, pushed them in best I could and reset the "set screw". I'm a little nervous about them staying in now.

Took me a while to figure it out, but the forum came through again. Dawn dish soap and a rubber mallet and they mated right up. From my experience, it's not gradual. It bounces until it all of the sudden sits tight.
