Default Long Distance Trips On A Streetglide

Just wondering if any of you have taken any long trips on your Streetglide with the stock seat? I've got two seats for mine. I have the stock seat on my 2010 FLHX and I've got a seat that came off of a 2009 Ultra Classic that a friend sold me. I love the looks of my Streetglide stock seat. The bike looks so much better with it than it does when I put the Ultra Classic set on, but for long trips the Ultra Classic seat is much more comfortable. I'm going out west this year and I know comfort is going to trump looks and I will put on the Ultra Classic seat, but I'm just wondering what other Streetglide owners use on long trip.

Ultra Classic seat w/Tour-Pak on trips. TP off and Street Glide seat on around town.

I used a mustang vintage solo with backrest the last 27k and just bought a hammock seat. I'm less concerned with looks anymore and want comfort. Don't really care what people think about how it looks. I'm known to go 400 miles in one direction just for lunch.

In the long run. Comfort out weighs looks. Most guys are bar hoppers and don't need comfort. Add the backrest and you'll really be good to go.

You guys are confirming how I felt. I don't like the look near as well with the Ultra Classic seat, but for a 2,000 mile trip, I'm gonna go with comfort. Around home, I'll stay with my stock seat, except for when the wife is riding. She hates the SG seat and I can't blame her. And, oh yeah, I don't go anywhere very far without my back rest!!!!

If you want a cool looking seat that's pretty comfy grab a mustang vintage solo with backrest and the passenger pad. This way ya look cool and just pop on the pad for the wife. And when she's off. Thumbsrew and your back to solo.

Okay, someone has to be different. I went long distances on my stock 2010 Street Glide seat. I'm 6'3'', weigh 190# with 34'' inseam and it worked fine for me. Was it the best seat I ever had? - no, but not the worst. Best was the Mustang Vintage Solo.

My $0.02
