Same here! Spent almost eight days riding the smokies. We put close to 2500 miles on. Rode two days up, and one day back home, about 625 miles one way. We stopped every couple of hours to rehydrate and move around. Always wear Ld riding shorts under my Kevlar jeans.

I did a run from Green Bay to Colorado last summer on my stock seat. I bought an Airhawk air cushion while in Colorado for the return trip. Long trips the seat sucks.

Local dealers have a seat demo event coming up. Going to try out one of the Ultra seats. Any other suggestions for a HD seat?

I recently bought a 2012 X stock seat, not for comfort but the 2010 stock puts a lot of pressure on the fender bolt. I have broke one of those already and missed a riding day.

I may keep the 2012 and see if MCC can raise me up and back. I really like the fit of the 2012 stock over the 2010 stock.

Can u explain this? I don't understand extra pressure on the bolt?

Corbin all the way. Never had a seat this comfortable since I started riding in 1995.

Stock seat around town. HD tallboy seat on long rides...did 6000km last year in a seek with tallboy seat with no problems. Not sure stock seat would of pulled it off...ya...a ultra style seat does look weird on a SG though...I look think a backrest is a plus..

Sundowner if my wife is along, much better for her. If I am going to be riding alone , which is not very often, I actually like the stock seat, it is more comfortable to me. There is something about the positioning with the sundowner that just doesnt feel quite right for me.

I've done a couple 1500 mile trips on the stock seat and it sucked. Got it reworked by MCC at a rally and it was better, but still not where I want it to be. Looking to buy another seat soon, and I have my eyes on either a Sundowner or a Hammock. The OL is riding with me more and more lately, so I know she would appreciate a better seat also. I will keep the stock seat handy for local riding though.
