Ohilins with Sissy Bar

Ohilins with Sissy Bar
I've had Ohlins 3-3's on my 2008 Road King for a while and now my daughter, who is 9 years old, wants to ride with me! I got the CC pillion seat for her that matches up very well with my HD Brawler that I refuse to give up because it seats me in and back just the way I like it. I'm planning to use the HD Sissy Bar for my daughter along with the CC pillion.
My problem is that the lower "lip" of the front docking cutouts are just about 1/8" too big to accommodate the top bolt "eyelets" of the Ohlins shock. I hope this makes sense!
It seems to me that the only way I'm going to make the sissy bar work with the shocks is to grind off that 1/8".
Has anyone encountered this situation and, if so, what has worked for you? Is grinding 1/8" off my only option or am I overlooking something?
Thanks in advance you replies!

i had exact problem as i swirch from detach tour pack to detach sissy bar and i put 1/4" spacers top and bottom of the shocks , worked beautifully. some hardware stores carry chrome hardware rocky's ace hardware in my area carried the chrome spacers i needed. hope this helps.
That sounds like an elegant solution. Now the hunt begins for the 1/4" spacers!
