There are two Stickies in the Tech Electrical section which will help you diagnose any problems. Don't do or change anything until you have completed going through them! They include doing a battery load test. My 2007 Buell battery lasted fine and I only replaced it a few weeks ago, as a precaution, but I have used a battery tender since the bike was new. Include one of those at the top of the list of other items those Stickies may identify for your pal!
