I believe it is, yes. Test ride will tell you what you want to know. Some of it is subjective, after all.

I went from a 2002 RK to a 2011 RK. Big improvements due to the frame.

I'm going to be honest here. I went from a 2008 Ultra to a 2011. The newer frame is heavier and noisier. Other than that I do not notice any real difference.

I have an 04 and recently test rode a new limited. Wow what a difference! Way better in my opinoin, corners better, feels more stable. It seems to track better too, of course is also has a larger rear tire too

The rear does not wiggle as much in a spirited turn. Thats compared to my 2000 RK and 2004 ultra. There are many factors in addition to the frame that provide ride and handling improvements in the newer models.

Thumbs up

I went from a 1993 anniversary wide glide to a 2008 ultra classic anniversary. For me That was a huge jump in advancements and type of bike to get used to. I can say that my new to me Ultra rides like a dream but i'm also comparing it to a 1993 wide glide. They made a tone of changed from 2008 to 2009 i was told. Best thing is to test ride and see how you like it. That's what sold me on the 2008. Good luck Jeff

It's worth it.
The new frame being a lot more stable around semi trucks running 70 mph was enough for me to trade.
I traded a 2008 (with 11,000 miles) for a 2009 and I was happy I traded every day I rode the 2009.

I just picked up a '09 and I am surprized how much more stable and planted it is cornering, even compared to my '00 with racetec/progressive/stabilizer. The brakes are waayyy better too. It does have a rougher ride though.
