Default Someone has to know this answer to this SEPST question

I've gotten conflicting answers to this question...I have a 2012 FLHTK.

Can the SEPST do a save of stock map (before any changes are made) in event I wish to return to stock configuration (for whatever reason). If so...can the stock map be saved to a file that can be saved on Hard Drive or USB Stick.

If it can be saved...is there any reason why a dealer doing work would not want to save stock map and provide copy to client?

Confused! Steve

I don't think so.

the SEPST's cannot pull the map data off of the ECM (at least not that I'm aware of).

You start with a base map, that was either loaded with the software, or downloaded from the 'net using the software...(one of these maps MAY be the same as a stock map)

Make changes to that map - these can be saved at any point. You then load a tweaked map into the ECM, and use your saved copy for future tweaks....

What I was told by the service manager is that if for some reason I loose my current settings that it will default to its original factory setting.

Default Ferris...Anyone?.....:-)

So can I assume that if I want save original stock map, I need to purchase a TTS Tuner. Then let Dealer do his thing using SEPST? If I need to go back to original (for whatever reason) I would then use TTs to flash back to original Map?

I think you would just get the TTS unless you already have the SEPST.

If you have the SEPST then I think you need to call Mastertune for your answer.......

I do not believe that your dealer is correct. once the ecm is reflased the reflash replaces the original calibration. I believe that a dealer can reflash the stock cal using the dt.

If you ever go back to stock just reflash the ecm with the basic stage 1 se cal ie for se air cleaner and it should be pretty darn close to the stock cal. I know some dealers would do a stage 1 flash on stock bikes at one time trying to richen them up a bit.

I have both the sespt and tts and initially reflashed my stock ecm (2011 bike) with the stage 1 download before I got the tts and know my saved cal for the tts is the se stage 1.

You can select the configuration closest to yours and save it. You can save the current tune then if something happens you can reflash back to it or another one you saved. But you can not go back to the stock settings. I am not sure why anyone would want to

The SEPST already has your stock map as part of the package. There's no need to save it.
