Default Kuryakyn Chome Caliper Covers?

I noticed that Kuryakyn is offering chrome caliper covers for Brembo brakes. $100 bucks, P/N 7789.

Anybody try these/thoughts?

I like the idea and it sure is cheaper than buying actual chrome calipers from HD but, thinking it might be a bad idea given the heat. Although, they do say it is a sloted design which will not affect performance.

What do you guys think?

I think Kuryakyn sells a lot of crap. I personally wont buy anything they sell.

I also hate any chrome cover. Cheap. If you want a chrome part - get a chromed part. One of my biggest pet peaves.

Just my 2 cents - but you asked.

Yeah I agree, the Kuryakyn stuff can really be a hit or miss kind of thing. I have purchased from them before, some good and some bad.

I admit though, the picture of them on their site is making me think this would be a miss kind of thing.

Just wondering if anybody else has tried these?

I got excited by the Harley Chrome Caliper covers at the dealer when there was a bit of a sale. They are now taking up shelf space. Just did not like how bulky they made the front end look.

I HATE covers. Why cover a part to make it chrome when you can chrome the part itself? I know it's more money but just my 2¢.

Covers look like......well, covers. Don't like them. Get the real thing for the real look. JMHO

I agree with you guys, covers are tacky. So, I noticed some guys on ebay have chrome brembo brake calipers you buy with a $275 core charge that you get back when you send them your calipers. Anybody have any experience with this? How can, or maybe I can't, be assured mechanically I'm not getting junk in exchange for a perfectly good ones. I just can't justify the HD price for new chrome ones without exchange.
