If a properly tensioned belt is TTDHB maybe DHB is to loose, how to measure DHB to determine if yer belt is TTDHB

Just took my 08RG in for a new rear tire - the belt had little to no deflection in it. When it came back it was significantly different with deflection. Also found the sprocket bearing had failed (sheared in half). They think it was bad at install. Never felt anything with the ride. Good thing I needed a tire!

I just did a 10k and two tires on a '10 FLHTK. I checked the belt prior to removing the rear tire and it was pretty loose. I could twist it all the way so as the edges were straight up and down. Should only be able to twist it 45 degrees.

I wonder if the tighter spec would apply to my 07 because I added IDS?

OK, for those amongst us who are somewhat shorter in the tooth than myself and others, the term " he is tighter than Dick's hatband" means that someone is incredibly tightfisted or thrifty. It is an old saying and not many younger people have heard it used.
So much for our English and history lesson for today. Sorry. there will be no test.
