Interpreting Dyno Numbers
#11
OK here it is -
BEFORE (the baseline run yesterday) 68.93HP/75.94TQ
4hrs and $200.00 later
AFTER 79.41HP/86.10TQ
Big change I noticed was the A/F Ratio went from an average of 15 or so, down to 13 through the majority of the curve. The HP/TQ curves were dramatically smoother and linear.
BUT the REAL reason I not only love this bike, but feel it was worth it? DRIVEABILITY. This is not the same bike I gave them this morning by a long shot. The throttle response is instant, and I mean scary sharp in it's response. Totally manageable, no lurching, decel popping or backfiring through the thundercones. I drove nearly all the way home in 6th, the engine powerful and predictable from 1500rpm up to it's peak on the highway. I thought the 10hp increase would be the key, but dialing it in really made it worthwhile. So in a nutshell, VERY HAPPY - Kudos to the staff at Boston Harley, they are a class act out there.

It's not all about the numbers.

I'm glad to hear things worked out for you. Now you understand why some folks can cruise in 6th at 55 MPH while others swear that they can't use 6th gear until 75 or so. I experience the same thing with the throttle sensitivity. It's like a light switch in the lower gears and difficult to modulate. You become accustomed to it, but I find myself short shifting at low speeds when in traffic. Enjoy your new found power and rideability.

vze2372e,
I think your bike should have made better numbers. Not a lot of differences between your setup and mine. The one difference is the cams. The Woods TW 6-6 cams I have work good in a stock engine midrange RPM. This is my setup: 2009 SG; 96 ci; Woods TW 6-6 cams; SE roller tappets; SE adjustable pushrods; SE Stage 1 intake; SE SP Touring mufflers; SEST; Dyno 90 HP and 101 TQ.
