Default My friend went down yesterday....bad.

He and his OL were running about 80 on the highway from what I was told and the rear tire blew out. He tried to slow down with the front brake and it locked. They both went over. From what I understand his OL is doing ok, but he landed on his head (was wearing a half face) Wasn't doing well yesterday, in ICU in a drug induced coma cause of swelling on his brain. Please send the Davidson family thoughts, prayers, mojo, whatever you believe in.

I got the call about 15 minutes after I left a HD dealer on my quest for a street glide. I had been haggling for about an our and had decided to NOT get the ABS to save a few bucks. After hearing this, I may just change my mind.

thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Davidson and his family and friends. My worst fear is a high speed blow out. Not a lot you can do when that happens especially 2 up

Prayers out to your friends. Hope they come out alright. As for the anti locks, get them. May or may not have made a difference with an 80 mph blow out but can save you in many other situations. It's one of the reasons I bought a new bike.

Prayers out to the family. That is one of my worst riding fears.

As far as the ABS, personally I would go back and make the change. They are worth every penny. As mentioned above...it may not have stopped the inevitable crash but it would have not allowed that front to lock up and perhaps allowed him to slow it down more before spilling.

Keep us posted on his condition.
