Update. Was at the dealer this am and talked to mechanic. Said it was the oring on the speed sensor that was bad not the starter so that's where all my oil came from.

This baby goes on the dyno around noon today. :-)

when the dealer says yes, get that in writing.

many common mods affect the factory warranty, the dealer cannot change the terms of the H-D factory warranty- so anything they tell you get in writing.

From Harley, regarding Stage II: "When installed by an authorized H-D Dealer at the time of vehicle delivery, these kits do not impact the vehicle's limited warranty. "

Even if a mod supposedly voids the warranty, if there is a failure, it must be proven that the mod was the cause of the failure. If I install an air cleaner that "voids the warranty" and a week later my transmission craps out - they will have to prove the air cleaner caused the transmission to fail if they deny coverage.

I know how you feel. I have a 2012 FLHTK I noticed some oil around the base of the rear cylinder at 300 miles i cleaned it up. At 1100 miles leak back i went to the dealer and he said to let it get worse and hd will warranty it. It is probably the orings. Sucks on a new bike.
