Mike,
No wiring mods to the bike. I will check the regulator mounting and check other connections also. I might borrow an oscilloscope from work and look for an AC component riding on the DC from the regulator...the most I should see is pulsating DC ( I'm not sure how well the regulator filters the rectified AC from the stator).

if so, I don't think that is a problem as the current is infinitesimal
