I am taking a small 500 mile ride to Myrtle Beach from Florida in May. I know it's not a cross country trip but it's something. I just ordered a full pelt from Alaska Leather Sheepskin. All I have heard is they are very good. Time will tell, I will post a report when I return.

I use a sheepskin , i got mine from Misty Mountain.... they were at Myrtle Beach a few years ago...The HD circulator pad is very nice...i will be getting one.
Good compression underwear hepls, like UA or LD COmfort...they don't have the seem and prevent skin shear that keeps the blood from circulating.

I used to ride on a Corbin seat, with a sheepskin pad, and LDComfort type shorts under my jeans. That was a pretty good combination and could get me though back to back days of 10 - 12 hours on the bike.
But it still wasn't Nirvana. I then purchased a Russell Day Long seat. Best upgrade I've done on the bike. I don't need the sheepskin any more, and can usually do without the shorts, except when I'm out for weeks at a time.
