IMO the touring bikes are the easiest to ride, around town or anywhere else that's paved...

The SG is a great choice, even if you tour a LOT.

The frame is the same, it's only the shocks and opinions that matter.

Get what you want, then adjust....

I have nothing but praise for the SG, I use mine for everything, will say though after about 300 miles on the highway my butts getting sore but thats my fault for running a badlander seat on a long cruise.

I luv my SG and I don't tour. I'm about 90 miles round trip to work and back daily. SG is just right and capable of long hauls.

If I didn't ride two up so much, the SG would be my weapon of choice. My father has one and I ride it every chance I get. Probably my favorite bike I've ever ridden, and that's quite a few. I wouldn't hesitate to get one for around town and touring. I think it does both quite well.

You won't regret it for a second. Stripped down or loaded for touring, you can get it detachable and in moments it can be either or.
