Default SE compensator woes - loose bolt problem - nice fix - harley primary noise

someone posted this over the weekend and I orderd one today.

http://www.automotivemachine.com/ind...emid=53#clbolt

SO the SE compensator has a problem with the retaining bolt being loose. heres a great idea. a retainer that locks the bolt in place. reminds me of my aircraft maint days.

Here are some pictures and part numbers. Just got off the phone and ordered one.

The first pic shows the underside of the a retainer from the earlier SE 40274-08 kit. This retainer has external splines (like a gear teeth) on the underside.

Retainer from 40274-08 SE kit. If you have the 40724-08 SE kit, you can simply call and order an LP08K and a predrilled retainer (p/n 37810-08A). There's no need to send your retainer.

The next pic shows a retainer from the latest SE 40274-08A kit. It has a smooth cylindrical surface on the underside, as seen on right side of retainer in the pic):

Retainer from 40274-08A SE kit. If you have the 40274-08A kit, you will need to send the retainer and flanged hex head 9/16" bolt.

Great find!

Please keep us informed once you have put some

miles on your SE Comp. Seems like this may end the dreaded

replacement of the the SE comp.

wrong post...oops...lol I was reading two threads. The other was the SE compensator installation. I was wondering if anyone was using Amsoil after the upgrade. No mention of it at all in 33 pages.
