I hadn't heard of a problem with the bolt coming loose, just a lack of lubrication causing gauling.

I've heard of the bolt coming loose, and I've also heard of the gauling issue.

Wouldn't a small tube of LocTite Red cost less and perform the same function????

Shop manual instructs to use red locktite always when reusing the bolt.

I upgraded my comp to SE comp at about 10K miles. Now about 25K on the bike and no more issues, torqued and used red loctite. It's gonna have to grenade before I take it apart again to put this latest "fix" in there.

BTW- I changed out my fluid to Formula+ when I changed out the comp, and I overfill slightly to 38-40 oz. No leaks, no noise, no problems.

If a new bolt is used with red locktite, then properly torqued (here is where so many screw the pooch), then allow the locktite to set over night, you won't need this piece. That's what I did when I installed mine. That bolt is going nowhere.

I have seen this piece before. However, just think about what will happen in your primary when those little screws back out and they, along with the nice round disk, start their trip through your clutch, chain, tensioner, stator, etc.

Nope, I think I'll pass.
