Least expensive dual head pipe
#2
Can you explain why you'd spend in the neighborhood of 20k on a bike then cheap out when it comes to, what in my opinion is the second most important part of your bike next to the engine?
If you can't afford a nice head pipe right now, I'd wait. You could go on ebay and find a cheap crappy head pipe that you won't be happy with, and will decrease your performance, but why do that?
Don't think you need to get a cat off your head pipe that fast, save some money, and buy something you'll be happy with.

Good aftermarket head pipes are not cheap.
But to keep costs at a minimum, you can remove the cat from your stocker, or trade it to a company for an already decatted pipe, for around $150 or so plus shipping. Or you can take it to a muffler shop and they can do the work for you and re-weld the pipe (and hope it fits when they are done) then you pay them. Several options.

I have the V&H powerdual and very happy with them but not cheap. As mentioned, the least expensive way would be gut the stock head pipe if you want the cat out. If you do though you will possibly need other changes such as tuner, a/c. Safest way to gut is cut a window out of the pipe, and chisel out the cat material. That way the length of the pipe is not altered. Many posts, including pictures available on this forum if you search.

If you want Duals.
I'm looking at the thunderheader true dual thunder exhaust. the price is around a grand.
its tuned and has a cross pipe and for a dual set up you want be losing HP. it has the cross under for the left pipe and doesnt look like a pipe fitter on crack like rinehart or clockworks.
2-1-2s are cheaper if you want to go that way, but they arent duals.
