More than once have I put the stand down, got off the bike, and just start to walk away when I sense movement and about had a heart attack. But it's always stopped and been stable after that.

Default Thanks to you all!

I only had mine for a couple of weeks but was used to stands being further forward too. Like DannyZ71, when I get off mine I sense that movement too and find myself checking the stand. My Garage floor has a slight incline and my bike points down the incline. Guess I should turn it around and see if I feel any better.

Yeah thats what I thought also when I bought mine. I even went to the extent that I took the bolt off the top and tried setting it forwars one spline but there are no splines. Theres no way its going to rock forward unless it snaps the bolt off and it hasnt happened yet.....just make sure the tab fits inside the catch and it aint going nowhere.

It aint bent, that is how they are now, they used to be farther forward but all the people that would take off with the stand down and crash caused Harley to redesign it so it will automatically retract if left down!

Blame the newbie yuppie riders!
